Review of Hotel Levante - Majorca
|
Well once again the time is upon us. The yearly exodus of people flying south will start with a passion towards the end of June. Some people will be off to sweat it out in Greece, whilst others will choose to taste fine food and wine in Italy.
In May however people in their millions will realise that they still haven’t booked elusive plain tickets and will now be making hurried decisions, fearing the disappointment of partners and children.
If you’re one of these people thinking about booking that last minuet holiday, then why not spare a thought for Majorca?
Yes we all know that Majorca is a synonym for mass tourism, but have those who turn noses skyward at the mention of the largest of Spain’s island actually had a thought as to why?
Majorca pretty much kick started the package holiday industry back in the 50’s. The mild climate was a massive draw for European travellers wanting to spend time in the Mediterranean without having to spend time hoping between elusive patches of shade.
Averaging between 16 and 27 degrees Celsius in the months of July and August; Majorca provides 300 days of sunshine a year. This means that pasty skinned britts can sit and enjoy elusive golden rays without resorting to factor 2000 sun cream.
It’s not just the Europeans who have flocked to Majorca. Majorca has been fought over from 6000BC by prehistoric man, The Carthaginians, The Romans, The Vandals, The Byzantine Empire, The Moors and finally the Spanish. This rich history of cultures has left Majorca with a varied and interesting past. Historical attractions such as Bellver Castle, Santueri Castle and Palma Cathedral are examples of this and draw large crowds every year.
The gentle golden sun, beautiful clear sky’s, golden sands and the hypnotising Mediterranean will provide hours of fun and relaxation for children both big and small. For adults the thriving night life and attractions will get fires burning once children are tucked up safely in bed in your choice of the well kept accommodation on offer.
The Hotel Levante is one such place of relaxation and enjoyment. Offering an extensive range of facilities, the Hotel Levante is only 50m from Cala Bona resort. The Cala Bona resort offers an extensive range of bars, shops and restaurants that should keep you entertained day and night.
This is of course if choose to leave the hotel. With its games room, air conditioned buffet style restaurant lounge and pool bar, freshwater swimming pool, sun terraces, sauna, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi and gym there really is no need to leave the lap of luxury. The useful 24 hour reception service and currency exchange service will ensure that you every need is pampered to by helpful, useful staff.
If there is one thing that the Spanish know how to do, it’s party. The Hotel Levante is a great example of this. During the course of the summer live shows are hosted both inside and on a specially constructed stage outside. Live music, cabaret and other professional shows will fill your evenings after you have spent your days in exploring, visiting shops or enjoying the fruits of the Mediterranean on the Cala Bona Beach - which is literally just outside the front door.
Built in 1963 and renovated in 2001 the Hotel Levante is an ideal choice for anyone wishing to taste the beauty of Majorca. 65km away in Palma some19,200,000 people a year fly in through Son Sant Joan Airport to experience the variety, beauty and attractions that Majorca has to offer. If your looking for a holiday that will tick all the boxes, then I suggest you become one of them.
